Trailhead Toilet Eliminates TP Landmines

A First Nation in the Sea to Sky Corridor, BC, recognized a need. At an access point to a trail that lead to a beautiful forested lake, there was no toilet. As usage increased in the area, little landmines of toilet paper started appearing the forest. This is a common site in many areas without toilets - especially trailheads and parking areas for access to the outdoors.

Plans were made for a urine diverting toilet with a kit structure from Toilet Tech Waste Management. The site was prepped, structure erected and the toilet installed.

The landmines are now eliminated. Local waterways are protected from contamination and visitors have access to a great toilet - in addition to the incredible lake.

First the site prep, with excavation for the solids storage vault and pouring the concrete piers.

Plumbing completed to manage the urine on-site via a simple drainfield.
